Time after time again, someone will come in or call and say they want to get feeling better and feel better about themselves, but they need to get in better shape before they start working out.... Maybe I am a little bit biased here, but does anyone else see how it can possibly make sense to get in better shape before coming to get in better shape?! If you've been on the fence about getting started with a training program or if you are just plain fed up with living your life feeling broken, weak, or incapable, I urge you to just do it already! Don't wait one more minute.  Start making changes for the better, and by golly, find yourself a coach that can help you. Here's the thing, you are not too 'overweight' to start working out.  You are not too weak to start moving more.  You are not too broken (in most cases) to start a training program.  And it is most certainly NOT too late to start taking care of yourself.  It really is always a perfect time to start making positive changes in your life. Sure, the gym can be intimidating for many people.  I understand that it's confusing to know what the heck you are supposed to be doing on whatever that weird piece of equipment over there and that you haven't worked out in too long for you to remember.  It is okay!  Take a look around a good gym (again, I'm bias, but I highly recommend the OS Institute) and you will see knowledgeable coaches, a caring, judgement free community, and people that look, and feel just like you. If you still aren't convinced, here are 4 great reasons that today is the day for you to start making a life change:

  1. You are awesomely and wonderfully made.  You were made to be strong and resilient.  While you may not be feeling like this at this very moment, you need to know that YOU ARE still awesomely and wonderfully made.  No one is meant to be living a life of brokenness and you have the option to make a change in your life, no matter what your circumstance is.
  2. You can start where you are and do what you can.  We all have to start somewhere and even just moving forward a tiny bit, is better than staying the same or moving backwards.  So, determine where you are and just do what you can.  Whether you get out and start going for nice purposeful walks each day, or you strength train, or spend 3 minutes pressing reset each day, you are capable.
